The story takes place in the 19th century and moves between Germany, Poland, Russia, and the Ottoman Empire. After his Polish family is murdered and he is given to a Russian family to be raised, the ‘converted’ Captain Arthur Kowalski is found guilty of murdering his beloved wife Vera on their wedding night. He is sentenced to death. As a child, Arthur’s family was murdered by the Russian Intelligence Agency. He is given to a prominent Russian family to be raised with Russian ideals before becoming a high intelligence asset in Russian-ruled Poland.

As the drama of his wedding night unfolds, Arthur realizes that his whole life has been built on an enormous lie. He vows to get revenge against everyone involved in his horror story.
